Concentration – first step on the ladder towards enlightenment
The first step on the ladder towards enlightenment is concentration. Without concentration we cannot begin to open the door of enlightenment through contemplation, or attain the state of true meditation described by Master of Yoga Dr. George King.
The Nine Freedoms are a series of cosmic transmissions (communications) given by a great and wise extraterrestrial intelligence known as “Mars Sector 6”, through the trance mediumship of Dr. George King.Purchase the full lecture: https://www.aetherius.org/shop/the-nine-freedoms-lectures-cd

“Concentration. This is the first thing. The first step on the ladder towards enlightenment is concentration.
“He can, at this stage, so enhance his concentrative abilities that he is capable of contemplation, with open-minded diligence, which will bring about a greater awareness, a greater understanding and which will begin to open the door of ENLIGHTENMENT.”
“But only begin to open this door. You should be able to concentrate for six hours upon a keyhole—no doubt. You should be able to take a fish in your hand and concentrate for six or eight hours upon it.
“You should be able to sit down and repeat a mantra without thinking of anything else, at all whatsoever, for ten hours without a break.
“These are the basic steps of concentration, there’s no doubt about this my friends, I’m not being silly. I’m being very, very conservative.
“In some yoga schools you’d have to do things for a lot longer than that—an awful lot longer.
“You see it’s only the first step on the ladder. If you have a mantra or an affirmation of a positive character, sit down for six or seven hours and try and repeat it without thinking of another single thing.
“If you can do that—honestly do it—well, you can say then, you’ve got a pretty good concentrative ability. There’re not many people who can do it. There are a lot who say they can, but if they’re put to the test, they cannot.
“You will have an intensity, the like of which you’ve never had before.”
