“Referring to you here this morning, the responsibility for acting upon all things, which you consider to be true, is yours. The responsibility for acting on all intuitions is yours.

“We must try to realize two vitally important points.

“One: Truth is, whether you like it or not.

“Two: It is my responsibility to act on Truth.

“All the Great Ones are allowed to do is to inspire you and then leave the actions to you.

“So many men in this world say over and over again, ‘I leave it to this person or that guide or the brothers, in some vague way.’

“This approach will not ever work. It will fail.

“I think if we realize this, if we act in this way, not only do we become more practical – and I might say the greatest metaphysician is the most practical individual – but we also live up to our individual and collective responsibilities to the hierarchy, and mankind, as well as to ourselves.

“The highest intuition tells us that we are our brother’s keeper, as well as our own keeper.

“I would like to give you some advice before you ask any of the Masters for a sign:

“You must never ask for a sign until you have made up your mind to go forward from that point on, no matter whether it costs you one life or five hundred lives.

“People have told me that they’ve asked for signs and have said that I was extremely fortunate because I received one.’

“Nobody is fortunate. There is not a person on Earth who is lucky. Luck as such does not exist.

“Truth of the matter is: are you ready to go on from that point forward, no matter what the cost? If you are, I believe that you will get the sign you need. Not the sign you want, but the sign you need.”
