We can all give healing and… we all should give healing, and… those people who do are those ones will inherit his Church.

[Darren] So Mark we’re talking today about what we learn about the Master Jesus from The Twelve Blessings, and I thought where we could start was “who the Master Jesus really is”, because it’s so different from what many people understand him to be today.

[Mark] Yeah, I think if you asked a lot of people what they think Jesus was really like, probably one of the first words they’d say is “gentle”. Which is certainly true, and you can hear that in the way he speaks while delivering The Twelve Blessings through Dr. King. But that’s certainly not his only attribute – and arguably not his greatest attribute, because he was also an individual of tremendous power; very uncompromising; very definite.

He did not care what people thought of him, at all. He did not care about the norms of society at the time, and was not afraid to make trouble even. For example, when he – if this story is true as recounted in the Bible – when he disrupted the moneylenders in the temple. If somebody did that today, they would be arrested. So this is, in the best possible sense, a spiritual troublemaker and a very brave person; a very inspired person of course, but not inspired so much in the sense of being artistic and working alone and producing something beautiful in a normal sense, but inspired in the highest possible sense of spreading spiritual truth, doing the right thing and giving a teaching that I think was quite literally alien.

This is at a time when, of course the idea of mercy and compassion did exist, but there was nothing like the concept of welfare that we have today or human rights or equality or anything like that. And for an individual to come along and preach turning the other cheek is really just extraordinary. And, although it’s inexcusable of course, you can see why so many people turned against him, because it was just too outrageous.

And coupled with that of course, he had powers; spiritual powers such as the ability to walk on water and the ability to heal the sick, which gave backing to these claims – to these teachings – which, you might think “Well, how wonderful that he could give proof”, and it would be wonderful to someone who welcomed truth, but for someone who despised truth, and unfortunately there are a lot of them on Earth, this was really the last thing they wanted: a powerful person going against the status quo.

[Darren] For him to come in to not just talk about healing but also to give healing in such a practical way, I think is a demonstration of how revolutionary his presence and his teaching and his action really was at that time.

[Mark] Unfortunately, there still is some very backward thinking about healing. Another thing that people think about healing is that it’s all magical or supernatural and it isn’t. It’s a natural thing. It’s a higher form of nature. St. Augustine actually said something similar about miracles that there is in fact no such thing as being contrary to nature. There are only things that we don’t yet understand about nature. And right back then in the fourth century I think he was absolutely spot on. It certainly applies to healing today. Some people are born with remarkable healing powers, yes, but you would only be born with a power like that if you had worked for it in a previous incarnation, and then using that knowledge constructively for people like you and me who were not particularly born healers, we can learn; we are learning and we are improving every time we give healing.

[Mark] I think one the most magnificent aspects of The Twelve Blessings is how definite he is about that point. Not just that it was the essence of what he taught in Christianity but that we can all give healing and that we all should give healing, and actually not just that we should do, but that those people who do are those ones will inherit his Church.

I think maybe it’d be a good idea to read out the exact quote from that, because it certainly gives you an insight into his personality, and he certainly doesn’t flatter, or indulge, or kowtow to anyone when he’s making these statements.

This is in reference to “they who heal”:

“It is indeed wrong of the so-called Christian Church to turn the deaf ears of dogmatic limitation upon the feats of these Ones. For these are the ones who will be instrumental in bringing the Light of Practice again into the Christian Church. Even though some of them regard themselves not as Christians, yet, by their very action they demonstrate more Christianity in one Healing pass than their devout brothers do in all their surface prayers.”

His main mission was to die for us, and this is a strategy that he devised, and it’s a very, very clever strategy… The suffering that he went through on the cross was the way that he manipulated Earth karma to prevent a catastrophe… We will have to pay the karmic debt eventually, but hopefully, in the meantime, we will see sense, learn some lessons and put ourselves in a position where we can pay that karmic debt without the Earth being in dire catastrophe.

[Mark] Jesus was not the one and only Son of God. We are all divine. We all have divinity, but how advanced you are spiritually is a case of how much you are manifesting that divinity. And a great being like Jesus – the difference between a great being like Jesus and someone like you or me is that Jesus was manifesting his divinity to a far greater extent, which gave him this wisdom and these powers etc..

Jesus is an advanced master and to all intents and purposes we could call him a divine being or even a God, because of his level of consciousness, primarily, and also his powers. And by his level of consciousness, I mean the greatest manifestation of that is his fantastically unconditional love.

Jesus was, in fact, an advanced being from another planet; from the planet Venus, not from this physical plane of Venus; from a higher material plane; a higher frequency of vibration of the planet Venus.

So if NASA goes to Venus tomorrow and walks about, they will not find Jesus unless Jesus particularly chose to manifest himself, which is highly unlikely, or any other Venusian for that matter, or any aspect Venusian civilization whatsoever because it does not exist at that level.

It’s like if you had a friend who lives in a third floor flat and you go look in the basement and you say “Well, they’re not in.” Well, of course, they’re not in because you’re looking on the wrong floor.

Jesus chose to allow a small part of his consciousness to be born into a normal terrestrial body, through virgin birth, in order that he could exist on this planet apparently as one of us to bring about great good.

[Darren] So you talk about the virgin birth, how does that relate to the Star of Bethlehem, for example?

[Mark] Good question. The Star of Bethlehem was of course not a star because stars did not lead wise men to stables and then hover over them. It’s totally impossible. It’s totally ridiculous. Either the story is not true. Or, it was a spacecraft. And in The Aetherius Society we believe that it was a spacecraft from the planet Saturn that brought about this tremendously complex, scientific, miracle. Scientific miracle. So it was miraculous to us, but it was scientific to them, of enabling Venusian consciousness to incarnate among us on this planet.

[Darren] One of the things that does bring us to is what he did for us and how that is an example of his magnificent divinity actually.

[Mark] What he did for Earth was obviously to teach, but that was very much the secondary function of his mission. His main mission was to die for us, and this is a strategy that he devised, and it’s a very, very clever strategy.

He deliberately put himself into a position where he knew that he would be killed. He could have stopped that at any time by the way. He had powers. This man could walk on water. He could raise the dead. He was not going to be afraid of a few Roman soldiers or an angry mob. He could have dealt with them with a wave of his hand. This is a tremendously powerful individual but he allowed himself to be arrested and then crucified.

The suffering that he went through on the cross was the way that he manipulated Earth karma to prevent a catastrophe from having befallen Earth at that time that would have taken mankind back several thousand years.

Why did he need to go through that suffering? Because that is the karmic law; that you cannot ever dodge the karmic law, but a great being can sometimes take karma upon themselves to save lesser people, i.e. us, at least for a certain period of time. We will have to pay the karmic debt eventually, but hopefully, in the meantime, we will see sense, learn some lessons and put ourselves in a position where we can pay that karmic debt without the Earth being in dire catastrophe.

But the real brilliance of this strategy was that he was doing a great thing. He was doing the right thing by taking the karma on himself; by helping us. I mean, I say the right thing, he didn’t have to do it. But it was a wonderfully, incredible, noble sacrifice that he should not have had to do for us.

There’s a very interesting remark that Dr. King made that we could not have done what he did even if we’d had the knowledge. So, even if we’d been able to appreciate karma and understand the dark forces and all that, and we’d been willing to be crucified, it still wouldn’t have worked. I think he says it would take something like, I think he says not even a million people being crucified would have had the same effect as the one crucifixion of the Master Jesus, because it was the crucifixion of such a great being that caused the karmic manipulation.

It’s a fascinating thing. It’s a horrific thing, but its result is a beautiful thing. So this is really the essence of positive magic, or you might call it white magic. And I think the essence of Christianity as well, in a sense, in that it is taking something bad and transmuting it into something good.

There’s actually a few words about that in “Blessed are they who love”, which is the Third Blessing.

“These Ones, often in great pain and anguish themselves, think naught of this but do transmute the very forces of Holy Nature into this Mighty Energy called Love, so that they may give it freely to those who need it.”

So this is talking generally the very forces of holy nature. So in other words “anything in manifestation” and raising it – bringing it up. Where the Master Jesus’s strategy is so exceptional, even among these exceptional beings who Love, is that the aspect of nature, if you could call it Nature, that he picked to transmute into Love was such a low one. And that is his cosmic genius.
